Freshwater Shrimp Bred Locally in Toronto

It started with
one more aquarium.

What began as two brothers sharing an aquarium hobby grew into Rare Shrimps Canada.

01
The promise

We would rather delay a sale than rush a tank.

Healthy colonies come from repeatable care: stable water, patient observation, thoughtful breeding choices, and honest conversations before a hand-off.

How we work

Built together, kept carefully.

Steady

Stability before shortcuts.

We centre cycled aquariums, consistent parameters, gradual acclimation, and careful observation.

Local

Born in Toronto water.

Our shrimp are bred locally in Toronto water and are not imported as finished stock. We understand the conditions behind each colony.

Honest

Useful facts, plainly given.

Pack size, price, natural variation, and care context belong beside the decision.

The story behind the tanks

Two brothers kept making room for the next colony.

What began as a shared interest in aquariums became a rhythm: compare notes, test the water, watch a colony settle, and learn what the tank is saying before changing anything.

We breed our Neocaridina locally in Toronto water rather than importing finished stock, follow careful husbandry practices, and build each colony around breeding healthy and pure lines. Quality is the priority, not a quick and easy sale.
